OFFE COMMITTEE MEMBERS, VETERANS, THOSE NOW SERVING, FAMILY MEMBERS AND ALL OFFE SUPPORTERS! CALL TO ACTION! August 13, 2007
The time to act is now!
Attached you will find a certified, signed copy of Cook County, Illinois Resolution (07-R-287) calling for full mandatory funding of veteran’s healthcare and services. As you will read, Cook County has placed the following ‘yes or no’ question on their February 5, 2008 primary election ballot.
“Shall the federal government be required to adopt full mandatory funding of the Department of Veterans Affairs for the purpose of insuring all eligible honorably discharged U.S. veterans receive quality and accessible healthcare and related services?”
Cook County is the second largest county in the entire country. The Cook County Commission has step forward to be the first in the nation to put their full bi-partisan political weight behind mandated full funding of veteran’s healthcare and services. These great Americans have seen fit to take the lead on this issue, and now, they need our help.
Operation Firing For Effect is asking each and every county/district/parish in the nation to follow the example set by Cook County. Personally approach your county officials with the attached resolution and ask them to take whatever actions necessary to place the very same question on their primary and general election ballots. The ground work has been laid. Now, it’s time for you to get involved. Our veterans need us now more than ever. Show your support for our troops by getting involved and help us accomplish this mission. Our veterans are counting on us to insure their future healthcare needs and services. Time is critical. We must act now!
