In 1932, Rochester Optical began as a manufacturer of high-quality lenses.
Later, it became one of the few frame manufacturers in the country. Rochester Optical quickly gained
a reputation for service and quality, and established ongoing contracts with the Department of
Defense to supply G.I.'s with rugged, combat-ready eyewear. Patrick Ho purchased Rochester Optical
Manufacturing Company in 1991. The first retail location was opened in 2001 and we have since
expanded to four locations in the Greater Rochester area. Rochester Optical still remains a leading
supplier of specialized military eyewear.
